Family First is an in-home program targeting youth and families who would benefit from one or more of an array of services designed to, in general, improve their quality of life and enable them to function as productive members of their community. These services may overlap and be combined in various configurations to address current and changing client needs. Services include family stabilization, aftercare (including Comprehensive Plan development and implementation), Case Management, extended family strengthening, parenting support, special needs associated with school/work, anger management intervention, transition support and life skill training. Family First may be delivered in individual, family and group sessions. Family First group sessions include moral reasoning skills (The Facts of Life by Dr. Ramm). A typical group schedule would include eight weekly ninety minute sessions.
This ongoing support helps us keep families together, preventing disruptive out-of-home placements. When children bond with their parents they become stronger and more productive, forging stronger communities.
Outside In contracts with Westmoreland County Children’s Bureau and Juvenile Probation. There are no fees to the family.
